I am honored, along with many others, to share with you images from “The Last Of Us”, for PS5. During this project I had the great pleasure of being a Character Art Supervisor where I helped lead our incredible team at Visual Arts in San Diego and worked hand in hand with our Naughty Dog family, to rebuild from the ground up and help retell the incredible story of “The Last Of Us”.
While my day-to-day focus on this project was to lead our team and ensure our quality bar never faltered, I did manage to sneak in a little bit of time to craft a few of the characters. The following images are of those characters.

PLEASE keep in mind, while I may have been responsible for the final look of these characters, I was far from alone in their creation. When it comes to modern day game development, the saying “It takes a village to raise a child”, comes to mind. The amount of people responsible for bringing these characters to life is breath taking. From our incredibly talented teams of: concept artists, directors (shout out to Care and Ashley!), leads, actor/clothing sourcing, scanning teams, blend shape teams, 3d artists (of all the varieties!), TD’s, rigging teams, tech artists (VIVA LA CABB Keegan!), engineers, production, animators, designers, management support, AND IT! ANNNND I’m sure I’m forgetting people. All that is to say, without all of these teams, none of this breath-taking world would be possible! I am proud to have shared a small part in it with you all!

Bill:
While Joel and Ellie were the first characters I worked on for this project, I knew that I would only have enough time for maybe one more. Bill was always one of my favorite characters in this universe and I was lucky enough to help recreate him! For Bill I was responsible for his entire character from helping cast his clothing and scanning it on our gone, but not forgotten body model, Care Michaud! Additionally, the humble and talented Patrick Switzer did the initial digital double sculpt and blendshapes for Bills head. While our external vendors helped on digital double clothing scans.
